The Merry Outlaw is hosting community meals in Kansas City, Missouri.
Every month, we throw a free dinner party. We often switch up the locations, so we can eat, drink, and be merry in different neighborhoods throughout KC. We organize volunteer chefs and donations of venues and food, so that every meal is free.
We bring the table.
You bring the community. The conversations. The creativity.
We could call it a free public meal, but at heart, it’s a dinner party.
Together, we use this meal as a chance to connect, to trade stories, to share our hopes and dreams for this city, as well as its struggles. We know nothing brings people together like a delicious meal and warm company, so we aim to harness the conversations from these dinners into actionable events and community programs.
Our community meals are a place to give and get support.
Whether you’re looking for support in the form of a nourishing meal, a business mentor, a social worker, a local artist, or simply someone to share with, everyone is welcome at The Merry Outlaw table. At each meal, we listen. We ask questions. We gather feedback from each neighborhood and use that feedback to design future events and programs.
Why do we this? Because we believe the dinner table isn’t just a place to have a meal. It’s a space where we can come together to build a stronger city.
